In 2008 a steering group was formed, to run Southampton Street Pastors as an unincorporated association. Like all street pastor initiatives, we have a license agreement with Ascension Trust which is the national umbrella organisation for all street pastors. We were the 51st initiative to begin working with Ascension Trust. In order to create an organisation that is sustainable and appropriate to carry the work on into the future the association decided to form a charitable company. The company was incorporated on June 22nd 2010, and the charity registered on September 3rd 2010. From 1st November 2010 the charitable company officially began operating and took over from the unincorporated association. |
